 Alma Brasileira features Brazilian recorder virtuoso Clea Galhano and Brazilian music specialist Joan Griffith on guitar. They perform a wide variety of music from Brazil- including traditional folk music and original compositions. 

: Brazilian music is an intersection of diverse cultures, fusing African rhythms with Portuguese melodicism while reflecting the stylistic variations of an entire nation. During their Class Notes Concert, students will experience danceable rhythms and singing melodies. Alma Brasileira will explain and perform different types of Brazilian music, including samba, choro, and baião. Full of musical color and energy, this program showcases the capabilities of the recorder, the guitar, and the rich musical tradition of Brazil.
