Son de Cuerdas - Concert Artist

Son de Cuerdas

About Son de Cuerdas: Son de Cuerdas is an ensemble that bridges cultures through Western classical music, making it accessible to general audiences. The musicians combine the sounds of cello, harp and piano, presenting Western classical repertoire with an emphasis on Latin American composers, highlighting their combination of folkloric elements with the academic tradition.

Program Description: The ensemble's repertoire includes music by Western European, Latin American, and Hispanic composers, both well-known and undiscovered. Audiences will learn that each instrument in the ensemble can play different musical roles.  Son de Cuerdas will also demonstrate musical concepts such as form and dynamics. Son de Cuerdas is available to give concerts in Spanish.

Teacher testimonials

This program is quite literally a treasure.
— Choir Director, St. Paul
This program is a treasure. It is incredible to have world class musicians come into my classroom during the school day for FREE and provide an educational concert experience for my students. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
— Choir Director, Hopkins
Thank you! This is an incredible program that is such a gift to our students (and staff!). Our students love music but often have limited access to performances, even in our city full of the arts. We are so grateful that Class Notes is working to bridge that gap. We also appreciate the diverse options of performers so that our students can see themselves mirrored in the musicians they see and hear.
